. She is my middle-school friend.
The world is full with different people. Never boring. Never ending story. I've met people who make a financial plan for the future. But I've also met people who are "go-with-the-flow type", make no financial plan, spend money shopping clothes excessively. They hardly have significant savings and/or investments.
Jeffrey said, The "go-with-the-flow" type of person is usually a person with no vision of his life. He doesn't know his purpose or goal in life. He will find it difficult to reach his dreams and get what he wants. He will be easily affected and moved when the environment changes and obstacle comes. But a person with a vision will stand firm, keep the focus on, push forward, and hear no evil.
I think this is one of the problems faced by many youngsters, fresh-graduates, young professionals below 30 years-old. One friend told me that she has no savings for her marriage, etc. She buys whatever, eats wherever (Girls, fashion are bad investments.) She enjoys her life to her fullest now. What about later? Will she be responsible later (after marriage) if she is not now?
What about the man, do they spend money on gadgets unwisely? Do they plan their futures well enough? What would he be 10 years from now?
Im not offending anyone right now; it's just that I'm wondering why certain people can be ignorant about the future? How can they be thoughtless about their own future? How can they not wanting to know about how to do them a favor?
One of the blockages is the lack of knowledge. Lack of knowledge might be caused by lack of reading book, news, etc, regardless the keen on reading. There are people who like to read only novels, comics, wasted-magazines, and never go anywhere afterwards. You are WHAT you READ. YOUR word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119:105, NIV). Do you daily read the Divine Life Manual Book?
Another blockage is the wrong circle of friends. Jeffrey always says that to discover one's future can be seen from the friends one hangs out with. "Show me your friends, and I'll show you your future", he says. You are your FRIENDS. If you hang out with shopping-freaks, you'll be a shopping-freak. If you hang out with gamblers, you'll be a gambler. If you hang out with wise men, you'll be a wise man. So, surround yourself with the right people. As the Proverbs also say, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."(Proverbs 27:17, NIV)
What would you do now if you are in the wrong circle of friends?
Would you sacrifice you bright future with the so-called friends?
Do yourself a favor. DO THE RIGHT THING.
