My, my. Collateral is one of the best action film I have ever seen in years! Very good & interesting story, excellent acting, amazing editing & sound effect, and yea, Tom Cruise is still handsome, of course :D
What I will always remember from this movie is when Jamie Fox stopped the cursed cab for a stranded wolf crossing the street (WTH is a wolf doing in LA?). That is a magnificent scene. It is like telling the awed cold-blooded killer: "Hey, I may not know enough about Rwanda to care about them, but I'm doing the best I can to exercise my compassion." And the haunting song (in which title I don't know yet) started playing. Very memorable.
After all that, I started wondering about Tom Cruise character, his indifference. From Google define:indifference I got this definition:emotionlessness: apathy demonstrated by an absence of emotional reactions
Emotionlessness? Absence of emotional reactions? Is it really that way? What kind of human doesn't have emotions? Again, with my hobby to define my own understanding aside from everyone else, I stated one agreeable fact with myself. The fact is that every healthy living human being must have emotions. Indifference isn't an absence of emotions, it is some type of emotion. It is neither happy or sad, shows no compassion nor hatred. Yet, it is still considered an emotion due to the reactions it produces. For example If you're happy, your reaction is laughing; if you're sad, your reaction is crying. If you're indifferent? Your reaction is apathy, in which I consider it a reaction because time flies and you make the choice of doing nothing.
