    Alkisah Motivasi

    Pernah denger hal-hal seperti ini?

"Someday, Gue pengen nunjukin ke orang-orang yang dulu gak respek ke gue. Gue bakalan bikin mereka kagum dan respek ama gue."

"When we meet again, I'll make sure I am above them and they would regret the days they don't treat me well."

"I want to become Young, Yellow and Famous."

Coba kita lirik yang satu ini...

    Diambil dari millis resonansi@yahoogroups.com

    Melawan Diri Sendiri.

Kemenangan sejati bukanlah kemenangan atas orang lain. Namun, kemenangan
atas diri sendiri.

Ia mencurahkan seluruh perhatian demi perbaikan catatannya sendiri.

Ia bertanding dengan dirinya sendiri, bukan melawan orang lain. Karenanya,
ia tak perlu bermain curang. Keinginan untuk mengalahkan orang lain
adalah awal dari kekalahan diri sendiri.

    Get out of Bed!

Tips to help students meet the cold, hard reality of waking up
    by Tyrone Warner

It's summer job time, and many students lucky enough to find a summer job are now discovering something that eluded them all year… 7a.m., Monday morning. Or it could be the challenge of the dreaded Monday morning 8 a.m. class.

So in the fashion of helping out my fellow students, I have amassed a collection of hints and suggestions to help the student get out of bed faster, and to their jobs or classes more quickly.

    The Alarm Clock

Everyone has one, and just about everyone has to hit the snooze button four or five times before they can get out of bed. So here are a few suggestions to optimize alarm clock effectiveness.

Set the clock as far away from your bed as possible. If you don't have to get out of the bed physically, you probably won't.
Get another alarm clock. Set two clocks to go off within 5 minutes of each other. The urgency of turning off two clocks should get you out of bed.
Set the alarm to a radio station, because sometimes the buzzer is just too jarring, and can ruin your whole day. However, I suggest the following…
Set the alarm to radio static, as loud as possible. I find music just tends to weave itself into whatever dream I am having. The static is more effective than the music and buzzer combined. Try it and see.
    Alarm Clock Alternatives

Some people have strange ways of tricking themselves into waking up in the morning.

Drink lots of water. The more you drink, the more likely you will wake up in order to take care of some very urgent business.
Will yourself to wake up. Some people seem to be able to set their biological clock to wake themselves up. This is more myth than truth.
Get to bed early. Going to bed at 11 p.m. for students is the equivalent of adults going to bed at 8 p.m. But it is a known fact that the sleep one gets before midnight is the most important.
    Alternatives to the Alternatives

Have a reason to get out of bed.

A day job doesn't create satisfaction, nor does sitting through a droning class, nor does another day spent lounging around the house.

Many people seek to discover meaning in life to find a reason to get out of bed, and when they find it each day is seen as a new opportunity. Each day becomes a gift to explore the wonderful world around them, and then it becomes a little easier to get out of bed.

TRAGEDI MEI 1998: APAKAH AKAN KITA LUPAKAN SAJA?

Enam tahun sudah Tragedi Mei 1998 berlalu.
    Peristiwa anarkis anti Tionghoa ini
    meminta korban harta dan nyawa;
mengucurkan tumbal darah dan air mata.
    Ratusan orang mati terbakar,
puluhan wanita Tionghoa menjadi korban perkosaan.
Ribuan toko, perkantoran, bank, pusat perbelanjaan,
    bengkel, rumah tinggal, kendaraan,
    semua habis dijarah dan dibakar.

Saat ini perhatian elite politik kita tengah tercurah pada
Pemilu Presiden & Wakil Presiden 5 Juli 2004.
Mereka sibuk dengan lobi dan kalkulasi
    dalam usaha menggandeng rekan koalisi.
    Semua daya dan upaya dicurahkan
untuk meraih kekuasaan tertinggi di negeri ini.

    Apakah hiruk pikuk politik ini
    membuat kita melupakan tragedi
yang mencoreng kehormatan Indonesia di mata dunia?
    Bagaimanakah tindak lanjut hasil pengusutan
Tim Ad Hoc Penyelidikan Peristiwa 13-14 Mei 1998?
Siapa tersangka yang harus bertanggung jawab
    atas terjadinya peristiwa tersebut?

    Dapatkah hasil pengusutan tersebut
menjerat pelaku dan penanggung jawab Tragedi Mei 1998
    dan membawanya ke sidang pengadilan?

    The celebration of nothingness

My possessions are dear to me.
My house, my car, my computer, my job, my parents, my siblings, my friends, all those things and people have special places in my heart.
But again, my possessions are God's given.

If He wanted to take those away, then with God's Grace I would said Thy Will Be Done.

My passions are quite important to me.
The passions to do Good, to be useful, to glorify Him, to be a Martyr, to prepare His kingdom; it would be so hard living without passions for my Master.
But again, my passions are God's given.

If He wanted to take those away, then with God's Grace I would said Thy Will Be Done.

My emotions are really dear to me.
I want to laugh at funny jokes, be sad when I lost my possessions, love and be loved by people I care, be angry when I don't like a situation, and so on.
But again, my emotions are God's given.

If He wanted to take those away, then with God's Grace I would said Thy Will Be Done.

My senses are vital for me.
I want to see the beautiful world and its residents, to taste every heavenly cuisine, to feel different garments, to smell designer's perfume, speak the word of God. My body would be numb without those experiences.
But again, my senses are God's given.

If He wanted to take those away, then with God's Grace I would said Thy Will Be Done.

My thoughts are inseparable from my identity.
I would like to study more about the world, meditate on the Word, learn things from experience, exchanging ideas with people. "I think, therefore I exist," a man said.
But again, my thoughts are God's given.

If He wanted to take those away, then with God's Grace I would said Thy Will Be Done.

O Lord, It's so hard being poor!

    I am so rich
    with possessions,
    with passions,
    with emotions,
    with senses,
    with thoughts,
    with all these worldly things.

O Lord, here I am but a dust clinging to my richness. A mere lowly being.
Have mercy O Lord, because without Your Grace no existence would exist.

No possessions, No Passions, No Emotions, No senses, No thoughts, No life I darely deserved.
This whole existence of what I think I made of, is Yours. I have none. There is no I. There is only You.

    Argh!! The Humiliation!!

Powerless anti-social versus powerful social. Who wins? The one with social skills.
The loser doesn't have anything to say. Witness the power of the majority!

Now, be satisfied. Humiliation is God's gift also.

    Soundtrack:
    Psalm 91
Be with me Lord. Be with me my Lord. When I'm in trouble, and I don't know where to go. Be with me Lord.

IMHO, the song resembles powerless slave crying to his Master. Hm. Being a slave. Hedonist like me?

Hajar saja. Hayo. Be strong. Move on. Semakin dihajar semakin kuat.

    How to kill the EGO

    1) Kill the Passions
    2) Kill the Emotions
    3) Kill the Senses
    4) Kill the Thoughts

Now that there's nothing left, GOD exist.
